Ladder work tonight if you choose otherwise just heavy with good form. Two teams and the heaviest full set from each person goes towards the team total. Plenty of effort tonight and some sore hands I suspect! Welcome also to Jacob and Ellis to their first KBC session.

Thursday 23/2/12

The return of an old favourite tonight and one that will probably be etched on some people's brains whether it's their first attempt or second!! There was some really hard work tonight and plenty of determination from everyone.

100m bear crawl
50x snatches (25r/25l)

3 rounds for time

The comp is all over so now the training begins for the next one. Will we be taking more KBC members to Ireland in August?! Let's hope so and until then we will all still train hard to become fitter and stronger than ever before, comp or not. Welcome also to Denise to her first (hard) KBC session.

Success at the EGSA Long Cycle/Snatch Sprint English Open Competition

The team are back from Birmingham and what a day we had! KBC featured in all the weight category top 3's that they competed in and every member of the team smashed their previous best result in the Long Cycle.
With Teams from Ireland, France, Ukraine, Portugal and Sweden the competition was tough but everyone at KBC proved themselves and showed we had what it takes to compete with some top Kettlebell athletes.

"A Squat thrust is as good as a rest"........well not quite but for tonight we were doing them in our rest time so the quicker you did them the more time you had to rest. Descending squat thrusts from 15-1 in each rest period with a minutes kettlebell work for 15 rounds. Good work team.

Double kettlebell action tonight which worked strength as well as gives you a good core workout. Some exercises were trickier than others but there was some good form and technique throughout.

Even colder this week at -12 but we soon got warmed up and into the swing of things! (excuse the pun). Surprisingly hard workout and taxed the grip a lot. Finished with some quick agility work

Some pre-competition practice for some tonight and for others a chance to see just how hard Girevoy sport is! 10 minutes of Long Cycle without putting down. Max reps. Really pleased to see everyone put in so much effort and keep going for the full 10 minutes. Hopefully we will be taking more KBC members to the next comp.

Lots of monkey business tonight with some jumping and konging thrown into the workout. Worked on some agility first and a 6 minute core workout then moved onto the main workout and finished with a 3 minute snatch sprint. Good work everyone.

The hardcore managed to brave the cold weather this morning for a core, snatch/clean and jerk workout. At -10 it certainly was cold but we soon warmed up and gave it everything to produce some great results. Welcome also to Roz to her first KBC session.
